Ein Museum ist auch Utopie, ein Entwurf einer möglichen, zukünftigen, meist aber fiktiven Lebensform oder Gesellschaftsordnung, die nicht an zeitgenössische historisch-kulturelle Rahmenbedingungen gebunden sein sollte.
Diese traditionelle Bildungseinrichtung ist zunächst ein vorgegebenes Haus, ein vorgegebener Körper, jedoch auch multiples, lebendes Organe. Rekombinieren wir diesen Körper, um dem Menschen in Zukunft kompetente Gestaltungskraft zu erhalten.
Als Baukörper beginnt das Museum erst ein Kunstwerk, ein Kulturraum zu werden, wenn es mehr tut als dem bloßen Bedürfnis Raum zu geben zu genügen. Es ist dies die Gestalt und der Korpus mit all den Qualitäten, die noch niemand an ihm mit all seinen Wechselwirkungen wahrnahm, das innewohnende Noch Nicht. Nach Bloch ist Materie stets Prozessmaterie, die nach Vorwärts dränge und ein Noch-Nicht in sich trage. Neben dem Nach - Möglichkeit - Seienden existiert also noch ein In - Möglichkeit - Seiendes in der Materie, welches bereits vorscheint, und welches zur Verwirklichung konkreter Utopien beitragen kann.

A museum is also a utopia, a design for a possible, future, but mostly fictitious, way of life or social order that should not be bound by contemporary historical and cultural conditions.
This traditional educational institution is, first and foremost, a given house, a given body, but also multiple, living organs. Let us recombine this body in order to preserve the human being's competent creative power in the future.
As a building, the museum only begins to become a work of art, a cultural space, when it does more than simply satisfy the need to provide space. This is the form and the corpus with all the qualities that no one has yet perceived in it, with all its interactions, the inherent not-yet. According to Bloch, matter is always process-matter, pushing forward and bearing a not-yet within itself. Alongside the post-possibility-being, there also exists in matter an in-possibility-being, which already appears and can contribute to the realization of concrete utopias.
